Ethics & Guidelines

Program Standards & Code of Conduct

The upheld morals, values, and ethical framework that govern every program under the I AM ME Collective.

Our Core Values

Dignity First

Every person has inherent worth. We honor each individual's story, identity, and journey without judgment.

Integrity

We do what is right even when no one is watching. Our actions align with our words, always.

Belonging

We create spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and valued — regardless of background or ability.

Authenticity

We encourage honest self-expression and reject performance. Real growth requires real honesty.

Service

We measure success by contribution, not consumption. We exist to leave people and places better than we found them.

Safety

Physical, emotional, and psychological safety is non-negotiable. We protect the vulnerable and empower the voiceless.

Code of Conduct

  1. 1Treat every participant, facilitator, and community member with respect and dignity.
  2. 2Never use position or influence to manipulate, coerce, or exploit another person.
  3. 3Honor confidentiality — what is shared in the circle stays in the circle, unless safety is at risk.
  4. 4Celebrate differences. Discrimination of any kind has no place in the I AM ME Collective.
  5. 5Be honest in representation — do not exaggerate outcomes or mislead partners, donors, or participants.
  6. 6Report any concern about a child's safety immediately to the designated safeguarding lead.
  7. 7Use program resources, funds, and materials responsibly and transparently.
  8. 8Acknowledge mistakes openly and commit to repair and growth.

Child Safeguarding Policy

The safety of every child is our highest priority. These policies are non-negotiable across all programs.

Background Checks

All facilitators, volunteers, and staff working with minors pass comprehensive background screening before participation.

Two-Adult Rule

No adult is ever alone with a child. All interactions occur in visible, group settings or with two certified adults present.

Mandatory Reporting

Every facilitator is a mandated reporter. Concerns of abuse, neglect, or harm are reported to authorities immediately.

Consent & Agency

Students always have the right to opt out of any activity. We never force participation or emotional disclosure.
